What's the deal?
Word of the Day and Phrase of the Day is for my ESL class of 18 19 Taiwanese five to seven-year-olds. Most of them happen to be brilliant, so they need/love new things they can learn out of the textbook.
My goal for the WOD and POD is to introduce something that I can use during class at least a few times everyday for an indefinite time period. I'm not all about giving them a big word that most English speakers don't even know just because it's a cool sounding word. Many of the Words and Phrases are related and can be used in contrast to each other.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated, as it is actually a lot harder to meet the above description than I had originally anticipated. Here they are along with how I explain them:

Speaking of helpful... I'm finding this blog to be so! I'm teaching in Thailand and got stuck with a summer course I wasn't planning on/prepared for. I'm planning on doing a lot of vocabulary activities and really like what you've done here with the site. Thanks a lot!
